HOVER FOR SOUND

Venom, born during The Gibney Double Plus 2023-2024 Season, it draws its roots from the lasting impact of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic and the present events of the erasure of the LGBTQIA+ community. It exposes the harsh realities confronting queer individuals: suffocating silence, isolation, forced retreat into the shadows, and the apparition of death, all generated through fear, media narrative, and a twisted notion of divine judgment. The title Venom encapsulates the toxic impact of society on the LGBTQIA+ community and the resulting psychological effects. It serves as a reminder of the marginalization of queer communities reminiscent of the trauma of the AIDS crisis.
